Mt Pleasant/Cedar Cottage Neighbours!
If you don’t know already I opened up registration for the 5th Annual Mt. Pleasant Community Yard Sale
Have you been thinking about clearing out your garage or basement this year?
For over 4 years I have been organizing this awesome neighbourhood event. Last year over 25 homes in the Mt. Pleasant/Cedar Cottage neighbourhoods set up a sale in their garage, in the lane, on the sidewalk or at their neighbour's house.
This year the event date is set for Saturday June 10th from 10am – 2pm rain or shine. I created a website registration form that allows you to easily register your home for the event.
To qualify: Your home must be located between Guelph Street and Clark/Knight and East 10th Avenue and Kingsway.
This event brings a hive of activity to the area for the day … not only for those participating in the garage sales but also for many of the entrepreneurial members of our community. There are many ways to participate even if you don't have enough to sell such as: Set up fundraising booths, home based business sales and food and drink stands.
One of the most valuable components to the day is the donations to the Developmental Disabilities Association. Whatever doesn't sell at the end of the event I will pick up donate your items to the Developmental Disabilities Association.
I do a ton of marketing leading up to the event. Watch for newspaper ads, neighbourhood signs, door flyers as well as web and social ads! The more people who know about the event the more traffic we have come to the area every year.
